Welcome to the May Stampers By the Dozen Blog Hop! WOW! May already? The year seems to be flying by for sure. Well one great thing about May is the new catalog! Products from the new catalog should arrive at our house on Monday. To make room for all the new stuff, other stamp sets need to go away. Sarah has been working like crazy this last week so she tasked me with “hey make a cool card with something retiring.” I think we have about 80 sets that are going to retire so picking one was not easy. I picked “Love What You Do” for the Hop. Seemed kinda fitting to say goodbye to all the other sets.
Simple cards. These cards can also be made with just stamps, ink, and paper.
I started with a 5 1/2″ X 8 1/2″ piece of card stock and scored it at 4 1/4″ to create the card bases.
For the card:
I used the stitched rectangles dies to make my rectangles. You can also just cut the paper to size.
Whisper White 2 pieces for each card, one 5 1/8″ x 3 3/4″ and another 4 3/8″ x 3″
Colored Paper 1 piece for each card 4 3/4″ x 3 3/8″
On the smaller white piece 4 3/8″ x 3″ I stamped my sentiment “Thank You” in the lower left corner. Next I stamped the flower in the center. Black Memento Ink was used for the floral image and the greeting.
For my “flourish” I used my aqua-painter to put a few swatches through the flower image. Anything can be used to add some color, dauber, markers, blends, or even your finger! I used the retiring In-Colors for this project. Blueberry Bushel, Grapefruit Grove, Call Me Clover, Pineapple Punch, and Lovely Lipstick
