Andy always jokes that I get a dose of Christmas in July with all of the Christmas movies the Hallmark channel airs in July. What if you started creating your Christmas cards in July? You would be ready by December for sure! Here is an idea to get you started.
You can use the Many Mates stamp set for Christmas cards, too! The “celebrate” sentiment is perfect for the holidays. Use the Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper for a dose of poinsettias.
It is difficult to capture the layers on this card in a photograph, so I will describe them to you. Start with a base of Cinnamon Cider card stock. Then layer the designer series paper (dsp) onto the base. Next, adhere a Stitched So Sweetly scalloped rectangle on to the dsp using Stampin’ Seal.
Create a frame with a scalloped rectangle outline that was cut out of Cinnamon Cider. Then layer this “scrap” on top of another piece of dsp. Next, snip a poinsettia from the dsp and adhere it using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Place a Flowers for Every Season Gem in the center of the poinsettia.
Now stamp “Celebrate” onto Whisper White card stock with Poppy Parade ink. Cut the sentiment out with the Stitched So Sweetly dies, and attach it to the dsp with Stampin’ Seal. Adhere the entire frame creation to the Just Jade scallop rectangle using Stampin Dimensionals.
Here is a closer look at the frame creation.
Finally add a piece of whisper white and strip of designer series paper to the inside of your card and write a holdiay greeting for the recipient.
